About the Speaker and Author:

Mr. YuKong Zhao is a renowned Chinese American civil rights activist, the President and co-founder of the Asian American Coalition for Education (AACE) and a Chinese American author of the book, The Chinese Secrets For Success.

In May 2015 Mr. Zhao and other Asian American leaders united 64 Chinese, Indian, Pakistani and Korean American organizations and filed an administrative complaint with the U.S. Department of Education and the U.S. Department of Justice against Harvard University for its discriminatory admissions practices against Asian American applicants. As the largest joint action taken by Asian-American communities in Asian Americans’ pursuit of equal education rights in recent history, the complaint has received unprecedented news coverage in the U.S. and internationally, as well as strong support from the U.S. Congress and American society.  In May 2016, in its continuous fight for Asian American children’s equal education rights, AACE united 132 Asian American organizations and jointly filed another administrative complaint against Yale University, Brown University and Dartmouth College for their discrimination against Asian American applicants.

Mr. Zhao received an International MBA degree from the University of South Carolina and a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Science & Technology of China. He also writes columns in Orlando Sentinel, Forbes, The World Journal and Sing Tao Daily to promote Chinese culture and advance Chinese American social progress. He is also the author of “The Chinese Secrets for Success,” available at
