Patrick Schwerdtfeger is a leading authority on technology trends including big data, artificial intelligence and the social media revolution. Head Coach, Speak To Lead – Mike Nie, MBA, DTM

Coach Mike has over 19 years of professional experiences in the financial and accounting industry. He has held leadership positions at the Big Four accounting firm and a federal financial regulatory agency.

Mike holds the “Distinguished Toastmasters” credential (“DTM”), the highest professional credential of Toastmasters International. He has won several Toastmasters speech contests (humorous speech, motivational speech, and impromptu speech) in the Washington DC metro area (area and division level).

Mike has coached young people in public speaking and leadership skills at his sons’ Fairfax County (Virginia) elementary school and local Chinese schools in the past six years.

Senior Coach of Speak To Lead – Nick Beaudoin

Nick Beaudoin is an accomplished policy analyst for a prestigious think tank in Washington, DC where he combines his love of public policy research and data analytics. He has a background in political science and economics with a BA and MA from Lewis and Clark College and the University of California, San Diego (UC San Diego), respectively. He has over 10 years of academic coaching experience, having worked with graduate-level university students at UC San Diego as well as three years teaching public speaking skills to elementary, middle and high school students in Taiwan. In addition, he maintains working proficiency in French and intermediate abilities with Mandarin Chinese.

Coach Mo Hamilton, DTM

A native of Long Island, New York, Monifa recently retired from her career in law enforcement. She pursued her advanced education by attending Hampton University with a BA in Sociology in 1994.  In May 2009, she graduated from The George Washington University with a Graduate Certificate for Leadership in Organizations. Monifa also completed her Masters of Arts in Strategic Communications and Leadership from Seton Hall University in March 2011.

Monifa is best known for her leadership and communications skills. One of her most recent and notable leadership achievements was her service as the District 29 Governor for Toastmasters International, a non-profit communications and leadership organization. As a District Governor, Monifa was responsible for overseeing approximately 3,000 members’ education and leadership throughout Northern Virginia. She helped to lead her team to distinguished status and was ranked as the #1 District in the U.S. for club growth.

Communications and Leadership is her passion. In her spare time she serves her community by volunteering as a “Community Judge” for Youth Speech and Debate competitions and continues to mentor and coach public speakers.  An avid Toastmaster, Monifa also provides speeches outside of the organization to various groups throughout the year.  She has given over 500 speeches to various organizations, businesses, and groups throughout the United States and around the world.  Most recently, Monifa was a featured keynote speaker in Jakarta, Indonesia, May 2016.  She has also provided speeches in Prague, Greece, and Singapore while attending her graduate studies.

Monifa plans to continue her educational advancements at The John Hopkins University, provide speech coaching to clients, and holds an interest to pursue writing books. She believes the world would be a better place to live and work if we each had effective communications skills.

Juliette Brown has been a member of Toastmasters International for more than 18 years. She is a trainer with  Skill Path Seminars, and currently, travels the United States presenting full-day seminars on topics that range from communications and self-esteem to finance and accounting.

Juliette was recently hired as a teaching assistant with the Jack Welch Management Institute, where she teaches through web media and other technology.

Communication is her passion, and she is thrilled to have a life where she is able to help others with this skill.

Coach of Speak To Lead – Margaret-Ann Williams

Margaret-Ann Williams is a writer and communications specialist who taught professional writing at Flinders University and news-writing and rhetoric at the University of South Australia for four years.  She enjoys teaching: while her children skill for advanced students.
Margaret-Ann graduated from the University of British Columbia with a degree in Creative Writing, and also earned an MA in Library Science from Case Western University and an MA in Journalism from the University of South Australia.  A Toastmaster since 2009, she started her career as a speechwriter and publicity officer for Australian politicians.
Later she co-authored several residents’ guides and wrote for government and private industry in the fields of tourism, business, energy and defense technology, architecture and engineering. As a Toastmaster, she has won a humorous speech competition at the area level.

Coach, Speak To Lead – Angela Wang

As a member of the University of Chicago Class of 2020, Angela specializes in the Humanities and has an immense appreciation for language as a tool of expression and empowerment. For her four years of high school,

she participated in Model United Nations, Youth and Government, and speech and Debate competitions. In her public speaking career, she has earned the titles of “Outstanding Delegate” in numerous debate conferences and has been chosen twice as one of the 25 delegates out of 2,000 high school students to represent the tri-state area in the YMCA national debate conference, known as the Conference of National Affairs. Additionally, she was a state spelling bee champion in middle school and has earned Silver Keys with her work in creative writing. She gained had teaching experience when she traveled to Sichuan to teach English to impoverished Chinese students. She is training to become an educator in the state-sponsored Urban Teachers Academy.

Jamechia Hoyle, DHSc, MPH, MS is a Public Health Consultant and Adjunct Professor in the Department of Global and Community Health at George Mason University, Fairfax, VA.  She currently serves as the 2016-2017 Chair of the Next Generation Global Health Security Leaders.  She also instructs the Emergency Response to Domestic Biological Incidents course at the National Center for Biomedical Research and Training, Baton Rouge, LA.

Dr. Hoyle has managed multiple global public health program activities related to emergency preparedness and response, operational capacity, strategic thinking, response strategies, and clinical guidance for various Category A, B, and C bioterrorism agents.  In addition, Dr. Hoyle has a strong background in international health, with a primary focus on project management, program evaluation, HIV/AIDS, sanitation and hygiene and clean water.  Her work has taken her to Liberia, South Africa, India, Haiti, and Sri Lanka. Dr. Hoyle is an avid yoga practitioner with expertise in mediation and stress management.

She participated in Model UN in middle school and high school. Dr. Hoyle brings her extensive experience in international affairs, global vision and college teaching to our students at Speak to Lead LLC.

Coach, speak to Lead — David Steinfeld

Ever since Mr. Steinfeld was on his high school debate team (which went to the State Championships), he has been trying to help others excel in making speeches.

Mr. Steinfeld has been a Thermal engineer for over 30 years, working as an Aerospace Engineer at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland. His job requires effective public speaking skills to get his point across and has made hundreds of technical presentations to technical and non-technical audiences.  Throughout his career, he has seen the full gamut of presentations, from very good to extremely poor, and would like to share his abilities and observations toward helping others with their public speaking skills.  Public speaking is not a skill people are necessarily born with, but comes with practice.

Mr. Steinfeld has worked with Youth for over 20 years, by being a baseball coach, hockey coach, Cubmaster, and Scoutmaster.  Mr. Steinfeld is currently in his 8th year as Scoutmaster of Troop 3 in Rockville Maryland, enabling youth the ability to become Leaders In their community.

Mr. Steinfeld attended college at Georgia Tech, and has a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Master’s Degree in Aerospace Engineering.  Mr. Steinfeld has been awarded the NASA Distinguished Service Medal for his outstanding service to both NASA and the US Government.
